Root Not able to root admire [Solved]

So i decided to go buy a new cable and see if it would work and it did! I'm now the proud owner of a rooted samsung admire and i'm pretty freaking happy lol. I appreciate all the help everybody
 
in the thread mentioned above the guys really helped me out... make sure to read the whole thread tho... questions and answers are kinda spaced out lol. and moving superuser.apk to your phone through usb mass storage mode then going into "my files" on the phone and touch superuser and it will give you the option to install. install then go to market and download "root checker" and then run the batch file. it really doesnt matter what it says on the cmd. then when it reboots and says "press any key to continue" push a button then go into root checker app and see if you have root. when i did it it said all kinda funny stuff on the cmd. but root checker said i had root
 
Ok i will read that thread. Also it seems a new problem has surfaced. My computer wont recognize my phone at all when i connect it to the computer
 
Have you installed the correct drivers? Also try to use the ports on the back of your tower not the front ports... they give me a hard time...
 
i dont think i have ports in the front. Just in the back. And yeah im pretty sure. I tried two different drivers. The samsung indulge drivers and the actual drivers for the samsung admire i got on the samsung website and neither of them are working. It was working earlier today so i dont know whats the problem
 
I had the same problem.I was lucky tho because my old admire had all my roms on sd card so I just loaded 1 from there.Never got my laptop to see my phone so I hope you get it sorted.Good luck

Thanks. I don't know whats the problem. I know it's not my computer because i connected my old ascend to it using the same cable im using for my admire with no problems. I want to reflash the stock rom because i think when i was in the rooting process it messed something up., but i can't since odin wont detec my phone either.

Hey man. is your device in Debugging mode? Toggle that. Also to check your USB ports go to Device management, right click my computer go to properties or manage and there should be device management. :) you should be good after that bro. Let me know how it goes. Also try a different wire for the phone or try it on another computer. All these things you should take into perspective alright.


Applications > Development > Debugging Mode > on/off OR Fill in bubble

Well toggling debug did nothing, and yeah i checked my ports yesterday. I disabled all of them and then re enable to see if that would help but it didnt work. I even tried connecting it to my brothers laptop and his computer didn't detect it. I also tried using other cable but that didn't work which leads me to believe there's something wrong with the phone

Or it could be the drivers .....try installing the indulge drivers for it.... And i think it should detect it

True gaaza, if not mistaken i have the indulge drivers installed too.

Smart thing to do kage is to follow link from here for the drivers or check and see which type youd need
 
Trust me i've already installed the indulge drivers and it still wont detect it

So you haven't gotten it yet-have to fix up an Esteem then can dive in;)
Delete everything Samsung from your CPU first as a fresh start is always best. Run a disk clean-up -defrag. Should be done in about an hour if your available.:)

I'll try and see if that does anything but i dont think it's a problem with my computer
