Root Not exactly understanding how to flash/backup roms

I have a ROM I made with UOT but not exactly sure how to go about getting it installed. I keep seeing all of this talk about using CWM, but every time I try searching that all I find is Rom Manger and then a bunch of stuff saying it either doesn't work, will brick the phone, or needs CWM Recovery. Kind of hard to search the forums too with the restriction on 3 letter words not being allowed.

So, anyone care to give a simple step-by-step of what to do so I don't mess things up? Thanks.

I have, but either it's not a complete guide of what to do, I'm missing something, or I'm making this out to be more complicated than it really should be.

Edit: I'm assuming it would be pretty simple once everything from that link is done, but I guess my problem is not wanting to follow through with that to play around with it without knowing what exactly I'm doing beforehand. I guess I'll try doing that, but before I do can CWM be installed like the above link without actually doing anything to the system, where you can turn the phone off then back on and nothing changes? Stupid question probably, but better to ask than mess things up.

Got it all figured out. Talk about making something more difficult than it actually is, lol.

I guess all I needed was to figure out exactly what CWM was and how it worked.

I tryed to reinstall a backup, back when I had my hero. It would fail every time, it would never work. So I just always have a stock rooted rom on hand to flash if something went wrong.
