Not fully charged?

Did a quick search, i couldnt find what i was looking for.

Im currently running S7 on my Captivate, and for some reason, when im charging it overnight, it doesnt charge to 100%. It will charge to 95-98%.

When its charging, before i unplug it, it says 100%, but as soon as i disconnect it, it drops down for some reason.

Since i had issues with FB, and battery consumption in another thread, i re-flashed S7. (im now going to look for the updates, that i know covered some other stuff, like the WI-Fi)

Any advice?

On another note: Rogers said i have a bogus battery. they wanted to replace the device. Its less then a month old, and they said i got a bogus battery, they would have to ship me an entirely new device. Odd, no? I'll just go buy a battery through Rogers. I may pay 60 bucks, but i don't care at this point.

Unplug and plug it back in. It will charge to 100% then. It's a safety feature to not kill the battery by trickle charging it. After it reaches 100, it will use the battery for a while before it starts charging back up. Lots of phones do this.

When he phone gets to 100 it stops charging to avoid overcharging. Once it gets down to 95 it will charge again and repeat. Not that the 2% really make much of a difference

Ah ok thanks. Its never done this before till about 4 days ago. Just set me off, cause my other phones never did this.

Thanks! :)

You can also try a free app on the market called Battery Calibration by NeMa. It shows the actual mv's of the battery so you will know when it is fully charged (you can set the app to beep when full). Then the app will wipe your battery stats (if you choose) which should help with your problem in the future.

If it was getting even lower I'd say you were suffering from the Gingerbread charging bug. I assume "S7" is Serendipity 7?
