Not getting the Thunderbolt?

Did anyone else get another phone while waiting for the Thunderbolt and didn't cancel their pre order but now feels undecided to get it? (Flame suit on) I got an LG Optimus V with a $60 unlimited everything plan and even though I know its nowhere near the Thunderbolt in any comparison this little phone just does everything right, especially rooted and running Gingerbread...
I just got my call from BB to schedule my appointment for pick up and I told them to schedule it until Friday to give me more time to think.
Anyone else on the same boat?
 
LOL...come on man, You know your getting the TB and bringing that LG right back! Imagine sitting in your house on Friday and reading everyone's, I love my TB Thread..
 
I'm sure the phone is going to kick some ass... But idk if I can justify spending twice as much on a monthly plan for a phone when I won't even be in a 4G area... Are you guys all in a 4G area?

The plan will be the same $30 a month plan.
 
Yeah it was actually a tough call for me. I jumped on an EVO while waiting for the TBolt and I didn't expect to like the phone this much, plus:

-VZ has no 4G in Austin, but Sprint does and it's actually pretty good (usually 3-6mbps down, 1 up with solid coverage.)

-Sprint offers 2 lines (wife and I) unlimited data, unlimited text, unlimited calling to any wireless carrier, 1500 mins to land lines for $104/mo with corp discount. The closest VZ has to that is ~$160 with my former-military discount.

-Sprint offers $120 off each phone you port a number in from another carrier which makes the phone cost $80.

So yeah it was a tough call, logic and impulsiveness had an all out battle within my head lol.

Same here, I got an EVO 6 weeks ago to wait for the Thunderbolt and really liked the phone, the network with its Wimax 4G, and definitely the plans prices. I had to return it before the 30 days so that i wouldn't get charged.

-Now i'm debating if I should still get the Thunderbolt with a 1 year contract.. decisions decisions...

Lol, I've been going through a similar dilemma. Before I knew about the Optimus I was hooked on the Inspire on ATT. I'm in the grace period for both phones and have been very torn.

The Inspire is an awesome phone with only a few things I don't like. Now along comes the Thunderbolt which is the Inspire on steroids. What's worse is they corrected the little things that bothered me about the Inspire, namely a fwd facing camera and conventional battery compartment rather than from the side (which won't accommodate larger batteries in the future).

The Optimus is a great, capable phone but it's not in the same league as the Inspire and Thunderbolt, in large part due to HTC's support and HTC Sense 2.0. If money isn't an issue for you, pick up the Thunderbolt once it's been out a little while (to ensure there are no bugs or issues); if it's half the phone as the Inspire, you'll love it.

If budget is an issue for you, as it is for me, the VM flexibility and price is hard to walk away from. The Optimus has been widely praised in customer and critic reviews so you'll likely be quite satisfied. Be careful though as I'm not sure the Optimus has the processing power to run Gingerbread, though it does come with Froyo.

When my money situation stabilizes, I'll be giving the Thunderbolt a hard look again. It really has everything I'm looking for in a cell phone.

I understand the hesitation well. I had a broken moto droid 1 since feb 14, i waited and two weeks ago i got fed up on The TB release fiasco and bought a droid x on ebay ( no contract) for around the same price as the TB on contract :) Now I love the droid x! especially coming from the original droid. The TB seems less of an upgrade from the x, with exception of 4g, front camera and the slightly faster processor. I think im gonna roll with th x for a few months and use my upgrade for one of the 4g phones that come out this summer. Dont get me wrong, the TB looks great (and i have a bb preorder :( ) but i think this plan will be better in the long run.
 
By the time Verizon has LTE in my neighborhood; this phone will be ancient news. Its the year old EVO with LTE. Not exactly ground breaking. Ill wait.
 
I spend the weekends and some work days on a 4G covered area, but after having the EVO, then the Atrix and nowa basic smartphone with Android while waiting for the T-bolt, I realize that I still get to do the same basic internet browsing,email, talk, txt, MMS, free tethering, etc.. with all, so now I'm asking myself why get the Thunderbolt?
I guess ill find out 2morrow after reading some reviews.

Its a bit more than the evo. It has more ram, 2 gen cpu, more storage, and better speakers. It outperforms the evo by quite a bit.

I also bought an X (on a one year contract). My area won't see 4G for quite a while. I thought I would get an X to tide me over until the 'bolt came out but after using it a while, I'm no hurry to change. So I'll have a chance to look at all of the 2011 4G phones before jumping into one.
