Help not having contact icon

Hello there and welcome to the forum. I have moved your post to its own thread rather than tag it on to an older thread.

As you had put this on a thread about rooted phones can you confirm whether you have rooted your phone and then made any changes and therefore have lost the contacts icon?

Or do you have the phone as supplied by Sony Ericsson and just can't find the icon in your app list?

I struck across this one-liner when trying to find an answer for what I assume is the same problem.

I have an Xperia X8 and the icon for Contacts is no longer present. It is not there in the shortcut corners not in any of the scrolly screens.

However, contacts themselves are still present as it is possible to add new numbers entered to contacts.

I have rebooted and removed the battery.
Any advice would be appreciated!

Hi there, when you swipe upwards and open your app drawer are you saying that the Contact icon is missing from any of the screens there?

It should be there and you should be able to drag and drop it back to whichever corner you want it.

If it has gone entirely the only thing you can do is a repair via Sony Ericsson Update Service or PC Companion Support tab. This will wipe your phone so make sure you have a copy or sync of your contacts. You will have to reinstall your apps from the market and reinstall your email account details.

Indeed it is in none of the app drawer screens.

Looks like time to wipe, hoping it will backup the contacts ok!

Thanks
