Not impressed with the reliability of the DInc2

About a month or so ago, I woke up to find my phone completely dead. Screen blank. Didn't respond to battery pulls or the power button. Completely bricked. Switched over to my backup phone, went through the hassle of getting a replacement shipped and by the time the replacement arrived, the phone decided it was going to work again. I was frustrated, but thought it was just one of those random things that happens with tech.

At about 0300 this morning my phone (charging next to my bed) decided it wanted to start playing music from my library. Not a clue why. Bleary eyed, I rolled over and couldn't process how to navigate a menu in my sleep. So I held down the power button, told the phone to reboot and went back to sleep. I wake up to find that the phone has been boot looping the rest of the night. I pulled the battery. Held the power button down. Nothing. It just boot loops. Haven't had time to boot into recovery and try to restore a backup or anything like that. My issue is that this is the second time in a month something like this has happened. Does this phone have notorious reliability issues? Am I doing something wrong? Did I get a bad handset?

Is this phone rooted? If it is, which ROM are you running.

From my experience with this phone along with my wife I feel this is a very reliable phone.

Yes. It's just stock rooted though. No custom ROMs. I'm glad I kept my DInc around because it makes a great backup phone.

Your most recent problem sounds software related. Since you are rooted, try a custom ROM and see how it acts. andyBONESTOCK is a stock ROM I'm reading good things about.

The other ROMS I tried didn't support wireless charging. Came home and found that it was dead (expected). Plugged it in and let it charge for 10-15 mins. Powered it on and it did the same thing. Boot looping still.

Yes. I was able to get into Hboot, boot into recovery and restore an image from a backup. Sadly my most current backup was from 1/17 (bad user). But it got my phone up and running again. I'd really like to know how this happened in the first place.
