Help Not push Gmail?

I've been using the Sense Mail app for my Inc 2 for a while. I have my Gmail account set up as an IMAP account on there. I really like the Gmail app now and want to start using it. I have gone to Settings>Accounts & Sync>(my gmail account)>and checked the sync gmail box, but it doesn't push email to my phone. I still need to actively het refresh before my inbox and labels will update. I also deleted IMAP on the account if that helps.

Could anyone help my get this app to push my mail? Thanks in advance!

I have a different phone to you but in Settings>Accounts & Sync> there are also options for Background Data & Auto Sync, both of which needed to be selected.

Just a thought :-)

I use the stock Gmail app on my Dinc2 and have been having the same sort of problem -- emails don't automatically get pushed to my phone. I did a battery pull to totally "restart" everything and that seems to have worked.

I'm having the same issue with my HTC Inc2. Battery pull works but don't want to do that every second day. I think it's the phone, I have done a time search and most recent issues of gmail not pushing all seem to be HTC Inc2 related.

I noticed this seems to happen after my phone goes completely flat and has had to suicide shut down... Just a thought - if I can get to the charger before the suicide maybe this won't happen. Or turn it off at 5% perhaps.

Try Settings-Applications-Gmail-Uninstall Update

Reinstall update from Android Market.

That may help. I'm a uninstall-reinstall kind of guy.
