Not receiving group messages from iPhone users

I receive group texts from three iPhone users. I receive the message from whoever sends the original text, but do not receive anyone else's replies during subsequent discussion. Is this an Apple thing or is there a setting I need to adjust on my Samsung S7?

It's most likely them, an Apple thing. iMessage is kicking in and that kicks you out of the conversation. It happens to me all the time with my family because they have yet to fix their settings.

Try using a different text app, I'm currently using Hangouts, it works well. I've had good luck with Textra and Chomp too (same developer). Whatever you use be sure to check settings, I have mine set to use 'group messaging', it flips it to MMS for groups. That seems to help. Somewhat.

Also, have your iPhone friends check their settings. They want to enable MMS and group messaging.

I keep telling my family green (SMS/MMS) is good, blue (iMessage) is bad. They just don't get that. Ugh. I've even tried to get them to use Whatsapp for family texts, that's way too much for them to comprehend though.
