Not receiving text messages anymore. Help.

FYI: Im rooted with Froyo.

So last week I woke up one day and my phone had the nice little icon that states my phone is low on memory. I havent added anything new. It worked fine the day before and then bam no memory. I ignored it since the phone still worked. Then a day later someone emailed me asking why I havent responded to their text. The light went off in my head and I remembered when the memory is low it wont deliver texts.

So I started trying to move apps to my SD card. But I guess my card is full cause it didnt highlight any apps to allow me to move them. So I started deleting apps until the memory notification went off. I then turned phone off and back on. But still no texts.

I then went into recovery and clear cache and davik cache. Still no texts.

Whats next?
 
Create a Nandroid backup, then restore your Stock Rom when you rooted and then update your PRL and then do a profile update, once done, then send a text to someone and wait for the to respond, once done then simply Nandroid back to your Froyo Rom and you so be fine.

FYI unless you have a shit load of apps running in the background you should not be that low on memory

Ok, Im guessing Im going to need my laptop where I saved everything on to do the backup and restore correct? I might need more of a step by step to complete that.

I dont know whats up with the memory thing. Ive had this issue before. And I dont have many apps at all. 14 at the most and most of those are for when I rooted (ES File, Superuser, ROM mgr, etc)
 
Umm that bis weird, download the app called Fast Reboot, once installed, do not open it yet, go to settings/about phone, and tell me what it says on internal memory, then then click on fast reboot, wait 10 seconds, and check again and tell me what it says for your memory, I want to see something, I will post you instructions in another post for your other issue

If you have your first back up from your original Rom on your SD card then you do not need your PC, if you don't then yes you will need your PC, let me know and then I will walk you through the process

Do you mean go to SD card and phone storage, not "about phone"? Cause I dont see anything in my about phone scroll down.

Under sd card & storage it says:
SD Card
Total space: 1.84GB
Available 588MB

Internal
Available space 26.54MB
 
I now clicked on Fast reboot and here's what I got:

SD Card
Total space: 1.84gb
Avail space 588mb

Internal
Avail space: 26.55mb

You would need to tell me how to look for the first back up Rom on my SD card, but I think its there. I could re-read my original post when I rooted a few months ago and see if I did store it on the card as well as on my laptop but it might be quicker to just tell me how to look for it and Ill see if its there. :)
 
OK, first you need a larger SD card, and second your internal Memory is low, download that app I mentioned and then open it, then check your internal memory

Im assuming this post came before you saw my other post after I opened Fast Reboot.

Yea, I always meant to get a bigger SD card and just never got around to it. But I plan to get a new phone soon so Im not going to invest in one now. (now I need to decide on Evo 3D, Nexus 4G, or possible Galaxy S2).
 
No brainer, EVO 3D IMO When you are near a PC and are ready to fix your text, let us know one of us will walk you through the process

Go to your SD card, and look under Clockworkmod/backup you should see your old backup there

OK I will assume the earlier time one is your Stock Rom, and the latter is your current AOSP 9.9.2 Rom, so here is what you will do, boot into recovery, then create a fresh Nandroid backup, if you remember how, if not let me know, then once done, simply restore the earliest backup, once it is done then reboot your phone, then go to settings and then update your PRL and then your profile, once they are both completed, then you will send a text message and wait for a response from someone, then once it works, then you boot back into recovery, then restore the back up you just created, and then try your text messages again

Ya Ill need the play by play since I dont remember. I can boot into recovery I know that much. Also, my phones battery is just about dead so give me the next step/steps and as soon as I get home Ill start on it.

NP, recharge your phone, and boot into recovery, then scroll down to back up and restore, and create a fresh back up, once it is done, then back out and then go back to back up and restore again, and then hit restore, scroll down to the earliest back up you have shown, you will see 3, restore the earliest once done, reboot, then do exactly as I mentioned in the earlier post, then once you have done that and are able to send and receive text, then simply boot back into recovery, and the restore your back up you just did, reboot and then try your text messages again and report back

Ok I restored my old Rom from March. Tested text message and it worked fine. Im now going to restore my last backup and test again. Ill report back shortly.
 
Off topic for a sec, Cat are going to get the EVO also or you going to wait

E3d......Got the Hero on release date....
Now Im Gold.....so can pick up a new phone every year if i want to....
