Not receiving Texts on 2.3

Hi guys,

I just flashed aospCMod (3/26) yesterday and while I'm liking it, I am not receiving any texts. Anyone know of a fix for this?

Text should be working, try rebooting, if that does not help, then go into settings/applications/manage applications/ then hit the all tab, and wait, then scroll down to messaging, click on messaging and clear data, then hit the home screen, reboot and try again, if not then you will have to flash back to your Stock rooted rom, send a text message, once it works, then nandroid back to the 3/26 build and you should be good to go

As DonB said, flash back to your stock Android 2.1 with Sense UI ROM. I also recommend updating the Profle and PRL while you are there and then try sending and receiving a text message.

I have noticed a few people experiencing this issue lately. I wonder if it is a bug in the ROM or just a coincidence.

Thanks guys. I will try this and report back. I suspect the PRL needs to be updated....I wish there was an easier way to do this other than flashing the stock rom.

One quick question....Don said "stock rooted ROM." So I'm guessing I shouldn't download the ROM from HTC as it's not rooted?

DonB meant you should restore your original Nandroid. The Nandroid you made right after you first rooted your stock Android 2.1 with Sense UI ROM.

You could also flash a Sense UI based ROM like Liquid Sense 2.1 and update the Profile and PRL. I have and it works great.

Ok, I did a Nandroid of the 3/26 CM7 build, flashed LiquidSense then my phone got stuck on the white HTC screen. I rebooted into recovery, did a factory wipe and tried again, no dice. I'm thinking the ROM might be bad. Going back to CM7 then will try Fresh to do the PRL update...

Did you not make a Nandroid when you first rooted your phone, you can restore that and then update.

I did make the Nandroid, but I think I since deleted the backup image accidentally.

Ok, everything is working now. I flashed Fresh, updated the PRL then went back to aospCmod, which is really the best ROM I've run on my Hero yet. It's faster, and I cannot believe how fast apps install on it. This should hold me until October when my contract is up and I get a new phone.

Just to throw in my 2 cents... I had the same issue with CM7 not getting texts. I flashed LiquidSense, PRL/Profile Update, sent/received a couple, then NandRestored back to CM7. Everything appears to be working...for now .
