Not replacing INC just yet

I am keeping my incredible as well. I am tempted to go back to the Iphone when the Iphone 5 is released on Verizons network, but I love the open source on the Incredible. I love the wireless tether. I could go on and on.

Yet, I would love to get a new more powerful phone, but I am disappointed with the Incredible 2 that was announced. The Thunderbolt looks weak as well. I hope that a new phone comes out this year that will be dual core and be an actual upgrade over what I have now.

In the meantime, I am loving my incredible.

returned my thunderbolt and am keeping my inc.

the 4g was very nice as was the big screen but there are so many quirks that i could not take. battery life wasnt much worse than the inc for me

Another point to add to Jamor's post. If you can follow simple instructions, you can get CM7, which is a super nice ASOP version of GB. With a nice launcher, my phone is and runs better than half of the new phones out.

Another article I read yesterday, Verizon is nixing the 1 year early upgrade on 2yr contracts. So no NE2, and no early upgrade, and possible tiered data pricing for new phones. Not only am I keeping my incredible until I get the requirements I want, I believe I will be switching to Sprint.

Verizon--- play monopoly much???

With Gingerbread, the Incredible is even better than i thought when i got it. If it doesnt break down, I will be keeping it for a long while. In fact looking for an Incredible for my wife now (she has Eris that is tooo laggy).

The only thing that would entice me to move to a new phone with larger screen is Netflix streaming.

Did you try rooting her Eris? I'm going to root my wife's Eris this weekend and flash the XTRom, which I heard vastly improves things, because you're right, it is very laggy.

We shall see.

I'm in full agreement with all of you. I'm kind of hoping this phone will never die, had the Incredible since launch and am still somewhat in awe.

Just like vintage cars and vintage clothes are cool, maybe years down the road the Incredible will be considered the same.

I'm in the graveyard with the Eris about to get my first replacement. Wish I had a INC! I agree about these new phones not being anything special.
I was in your spot until last week, when I bought a Dinc. AMAZING phone. The PERFECT upgrade from the Eris.

iphone 5
turned on my Inc the other day and it was wiped clean. all apps gone, most of my photos, all screens.
phone dialed 228 like it was a new phone. luckily, contacts restored via backup.
now having trouble with emails, calendar.
real pita.

You know, this is something I thought about recently. My mother asked if I was going to upgrade my phone because I would likely get money/folks asking what I want for graduation (getting my MA in May). I thought about it, but I don't really see a reason to upgrade my Incredible. It's still awesome and it works perfectly fine. I did have to do a hard reset yesterday to get it syncing with my contacts again, but it took a matter of minutes to get the phone back to the way it was again.

There's no reason for me to shell out the money now. The only phone I'd consider is the Thunderbolt (love HTC so I really want to stick with them) but it hasn't really wowed me. At least I know I wouldn't really mind the larger screen all that much since I've had the chance to play around with my father's brand new Evo.

A lot of my friends thought I'd be hopping on the iPhone bandwagon since my macbook is practically surgically attached, but I have no desire whatsoever to get that phone.

Giving it some time. I see no need to upgrade. The Thunderbolt is an impressive phone, but so is my Incredible. I've yet to have to replace the phone and its just now starting to act a little funny. If anything I'll use my extended warranty and get a replacement to hold me over if I really need to; however, the Incredible 2 looks like it would serve as a very good upgrade from what I have since I have no desire to go from 3G to 4G yet. I just don't see the point since it isn't available nationwide yet.

Its rumored the DINC 2 is the same as the DINC, but with upgrades to match the Thunderbolt. That's good enough for me!

I still love mine, but I'm about to sell it and buy a used Droid X. Prices should be pretty similar. I really want a bigger screen and hopefully better battery life. My DInc has been terrible lately.
