Not sure if my battery is draining quickly. Comparisons please!

So I occasionally see some people posting their 60% battery life after 18 hours or so of usage. I don't know if I have some settings out of place but I feel like I'm not getting the battery life that many others users are. Here are a couple of pictures I took a bit ago of my battery usage.

To add on, I have my Wi-Fi set to automatically switch to data when there's a weak signal and I've turned GPS off unless needed.

Battery always depends on the usage you give the phone, also on the settings you have set, and the apps you have downloaded. Brightness is one big factor that decides how much your battery lasts.

For me personally, I can say my battery lasts since I wake up, (between 6-8 am), until 11 pm, and I still might have from 7-18%. And that's with a moderate use. Chatting a lot and a lot of instagram, browser usage. The other day I used youtube for a couple of hours and had to charge it by 5pm. Two days ago, it was 76% and I went to sleep, woke up and it was 68% if I remember right, used it until it drained to 56% and charged it to 75%, went out and when I got back at home at the end of the night I still had at least 30%.

I have to say my battery lasts pretty much a decent amount of time. And I'm sure if I used it for just calls and urgent texts, it would last two days. My old phone would have never lasted the amount this one does.

It just seems like it's not lasting that long even when I do light usage. Maybe it's just me. I've turned different settings off but I feel I'm not getting much life out of it. I have way more battery than my EVO 4G which is great... I might do a factory reset and see where it takes me.

Looking at your screenshots - your signal is very weak.

Constant searching for a better signal will kill a battery just as fast as the screen being on

QFT!

Regardless of provider,I've experienced this, both on CDMA & GSM networks.

You're either in a weak coverage area,or experiencing network issues.

An extremely frustrating situation to be in,hopefully you'll find a remedy soon.

A call to SPRINT would be my 1st stop, then proceed from there.

Might wanna check some 3rd party coverage maps. Some crowd-sourced sites can give you a glimpse into what's really going on in your area,or check here:

Well it's usually the same wherever I go... I did a factory reset the other day to see if that changes anything but I haven't noticed much of a difference.

I found turning off the option to allow Google to scan for location even when wifi off helped me save battery a fair bit.

The last couple of days my battery hadn't been lasting nearly as long as it did when I got the phone. With my normal use if be between 30%-40% at 11pm after unplugging at 6:30am. Now I'm at 5-15. Only thing I've noticed is that the media server claims to be using a lot of battery. I might uninstall widget locker, dash clock and nova to see if it returns to normal... Although all three of those apps are very useful to me...

Do you use Google Hangouts? Have you updated it recently? There was a hidden battery drain issue that was just resolved with the latest update.

I disabled Hangouts this morning and installed Handcent. Unplugged at 6:30 and already at 85%. Some texts, a 30 second phone call and about 15 minutes of music. The first couple months of use I'd still be over 90. Already removed Dashclock and Widget Locker just in case because those were recent additions. Debating on removing Nova next... Not sure what else to do.

Have you checked "GSam Battery Monitor" to see what is consuming battery power? When you open the app, click on the 'vacuum cleaner' in the bottom left of the screen, and it will break down the specific app usages.

Tried it for awhile and it pretty much said GSam was using most of it lol

Staying to winner if it's in my head.

In regards to battery life, usage, taking care of your battery, what is the general experience/consensus out there for this scenario:

I work in the basement of a government building with zero cell service, but good WiFi....I would be at work for 9 hours on WiFi, but wouldn't have any real cell signal to speak of. My phone now (an Incredible 4G) is dead before I'm halfway through my shift, so I leave it plugged in all day. What are people's experiences with a situation like this? Would you leave your HTC One (M8) plugged in all day since I have access to an outlet? Or would you just let it drain down as low as it's going to given the poor conditions for long battery life down here.

It's my first experience with a non-removable battery, and I don't want to kill it if I'm supposed to treat it (conditioning? is that even a thing anymore?) a certain way. Thanks in advance!

I'd probably put it in airplane mode and turn on Wi-Fi. No sense in having the cell radio trying to find a signal that isn't there.
