Not sure what Kernel for Rooting?

Hi,

im looking to root my samsung galaxy s2 however i failed in my first attempt as i was using an out dated guide.

But now i have my phone back to normal and ready to give it another go, only problem now is im not sure what kernel i should use for rooting. i read through the guide for dummies but im still confused for what kernel to use so im wondering if anyone can help me :)

the kernel im currently using is - "3.0.15-1114882 dpi@DELL163#3 smp preempt" i am confused as there are no letters?

Thanks for any advice! :D

:ditto: I have the exact same problem with the same kernel, baseband, pda, phone and csc..

Extra info: I had previously successfully rooted (still very noob though) using CF-Root-SGS2_XW_NEE_LPG-v5.5-CWM5. Today I upgraded the firmware via Kies, probably because I'm an idiot :D

After realising that it wasn't rooted anymore I came running back here to look at ironasses' rooting guide, but can't match my kernel. I don't know if the upgrade today changed it or not? I presume it was correctly matched to LPG before..

Hey brayyo I did that and it seems to work. SuperUser is available again which means I'm rooted again.

This method is slightly different.. follow the instructions under the following section in the link I provided before:

"Recovery (.zip) packages instructions - Will also root your phone * recommanded method *"

Best part so far is there's no yellow triangle like it promises.
