Not to be sexist, but...

one of my son's entire home devices are apple/i. he feels he's "invested" although he's beginning to see the possibilities on android, but he's got apple right to his TVs. his wife and kids have them, too. so he's stuck in apple world.

I think this is a big thing for many people. I've been using android for over 2 years now. Even if a platform came out that seemed better (or iOS made something amazing) it would be real hard for me to switch based on how much I have I have spent on Android apps

2 more people @ work got Crapples.
Total tally:
3 Crapples,2 Androids,1 BB, & a few dumbphones.
I tried to convince my cousin to go Android( we work together), but he buys the whole "iSync" being much easier to do.
It was a gift so I don't really blame him. Lol

Is it just me or are most smartphone couples that use different os split in this way; male = android and female = iphone.

WOAH! Put that torch down! From my (mostly) lurking on here I notice that most threads that involve a loved one using an iPhone is split this way, but I paid no mind to it. That is, until my girlfriend just got herself an iPhone4s. I tried to convince her that Android is the way to go, but she always claimed it was way too complicated for her while the iPhone is simple.

Fair enough. I customized my Android to MY liking so naturally she wouldn't like it, but she didn't understand that.

Anyway, tldr, long story short, etc etc. Am I going crazy or does it seem like Android = man iPhone = woman when it comes to couples splitting the os love.

I've always thought it a bit strange it's called Android. I can see that name putting off a lot of people who'll just associate it with sci-fi which is a pretty male centric genre so maybe the O/S would have appealed to women more if it was called something else. I mean they wouldn't have dreamt of calling it Lavender for fear of putting off men so calling Android might put women off in the same way.
