Help Not turning on - battery pull required

Good Morning,

Just wondered if anyone else has had this issue with their XE? Had the phone for 2 months, and within that time I've only had this happen twice.

I press the power button on the top to wake it up and nothing, no response at all. Tried calling the phone to see if that wakes it up and again,no joy.

I end up having to pull the battery to get it to respond.

Not a major issue or anything, but it's there and it's going to annoy me! Doesn't seem worth taking it back if it's happened to someone else too, and possibly the ICS update may fix it.

Next step is to investigate all the apps I have, just in case one has a memory leak and is consuming all the RAM.

Thanks

i have had that too on a few occasions... i think it's related to what i've talked about in this thread about restarting.

initially i thought the phone had turned itself off, as you just get a black screen. but then one time i noticed the LCD/message indicator flashing so knew the phone was on. but the only remedy was a battery pull.

this doesn't happen often, but happened twice on the same afternoon on Saturday!

as with the restarting, there doesn't seem to be any pattern to it happening, it's just random. i've just come to terms that it's "one of those things"! it's frustrating but doesn't happen all the time.

I plan to wait until ICS is released and see if that irons out any bugs.

the only thing i can think it could be is if lots of apps/functions aren't closed down. on Saturday morning i was using lots of apps (bored on the train!) but possibly didn't close them all down properly. so after a 'heavy session' might be good practice to go into settings and "kill all"?

At least it's not just mine, guess that's something to be thankful for!

Yeah, I did notice the LED was flashing as I'd just got a text (that's what prompted me to wake it up). Very strange behaviour!

I do have a fair amount of apps installed, I'm trying to think of when they were loaded on (The market, or "Manage Applications" should have an "Installed Date" field, would help so much when diagnosing potential problem apps!)
