Note 10.1 sd card reader

I have a note 10.1 N8010 model tablet. I recently bought the Samsung USB connection kit with an SD card & USB adaptor in it. I have tried to us the SD card reader to view photographs on my tablet but it doesn't recognise anything. I have installed USB host controller but this simply says it can not find S3C host driver. Does the N8010 not support a USB adaptor or is there an app I can get to access the photos on the external USB? At the minute I have a 32Gb SD card installed in the internal card slot & the connection kit has no power. Would this have an effect on the external card access?
 
Card reader will not work. USB connection kit should contain a dedicated card reader. Otherwise you have to use a USB stick, accessories like card readers do not work.
 
Try settings, developer options, and put a tick in usb de-bugging.
Dont know what it's supposed to do but when I placed the tick I was able to see a mounted sd card.
