Help Note 2 and Gear

Hi all,

I have the Note 2, which I believe is running non stock software. In the Firmware section it says 4.1.2
I've just bought a Galaxy Gear from eBay, brand new, and the seller told me it would work with my Note 2 but I cannot get it to bring up the Gear Manager, so the watch it pretty useless. I can't even get a watch face on it.

How do I update the phone so it will be compatible with the watch? I asked this on another forum but haven't receoved a reply yet other than You need 4.3. It doesn't mean a great deal to me. How do I get this?

Try this go to settings then all the way to the bottom, press about phone, then at the very top there should be software update press on that your phone will check for an update. Do this while your on Wi-Fi so it doesn't use a lot of your data.

I've done that and it says the software is up to day and gives me the time it checked it.

Well I'm out of options then, who is your carrier? I've read that Verizon is usually last to update.

The Note 2 Verizon 4.3 update has been out for a while now. You should check an make sure that your phone isn't rooted. If it is, you will need to flash a 4.3 ROM that is compatible with the Phone Gear stuff.
