note 2 LCD shot or not

mema2.1

Newbie
My barely one month old note 2 decided to start rolling the screen and then go blank. It does have a crack on it and worked just fine until it decided to start this. I can turn the phone on and it does boot I can hear it ....ie alarms messages incoming mail and all....just can't see anything.
I was told by a friend the LCD was shot but then another person said that if I could see the galaxy note 2 on the screen and then it rolled and went blank it might be something else.
IF its the LCD as I suspect it is can anyone recommend a good place to get a replacement so I can fix it? If it's not the LCD what else might it be?

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

If you can see any of the initial boot-up animations, chances are that the LCD is fine. If I were you, I would try a factory reset from the recovery menu. Unfortunately, I don't have the steps to do that with me right now, but I'm sure you can find them on this forum. Beware, a FDR from recovery will erase all the information in system area and the internal memory on the phone. It will be just like it was out of the box, but will likely remedy your problem.

What I see I the Samsung Galaxy Note II and then that scrolls and nothing.
I was able to us the USB cord and copy everything on the phone to my laptop so I'm not worried about loosing anything at this point.
I'll look for directions and try the factory reset. Hope it works THANKS!
