Help Note 2 messing up Sd cards Changing Folder Names ?

Well anyway i have been having the dreaded problem that everyone else was having with SD cards. First it killed my Sandisk 32gb class 4 which i had been using for years and then I thought maybe old age got to that card so i bought a PNY 8GB class 4 and that worked for a while. I wanted more space though so I was reading around and people speculated that Samsung Card were good and didn't have problems so i bought a Samsung 32GB class 10 card and its been a few weeks and it works but some weird stuff is going on. It changes the folder names to contain a weird character. o this is really making me Angry now and i was wondering if anyone had similar issues or found a fix ?

Just to clarify, that isn't a 'u'. It's actually the symbol for micro used in science and mathematics.

I honestly never experienced this before. Have you checked with the ROM dev? I only ask because I see you have Titanium Backup which suggests you are using a custom ROM?

No not yet Im running Jedi X14 and i don't think its the ROM as when i use my PNY 8GB nothing goes wrong. This seems to only happen with 32GB cards so i might just sell the card even though i just bought it. I might go for a 16GB but i rather have a 32 or then i may be forced to get a 64gb even though i don't need it. This is ridiculous the first card is totally dead and this might be headed the same way and i have done many formats so i just put it into my computer and did a long full format to see if that helps. :(

I had the same problem with the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and a 32GB SD card.

Do you turn your Note 2 off?

I ask because what I have found in my case that things seem to work much better if I take the time to go into Settings/Storage and unmount the external SD card before I shut down the tablet.

I am thinking that the latest iterations of Android (ICS, GB) are not unmounting the external memory correctly during the shutdown sequence, maybe because some app is holding the card open or something.

I am not a programmer or anything, this is merely conjecture on my part.
