Note 2 N7100 Software update today

My Galaxy Note 2 (unlocked) received a software update today, apparently to Android 4.1.2:

Baseband (CP): N7100XXDLK7
CSC: N7100JVDMC1
Build No.(AP) JZO54K.N7100XXDMC3

This firmware appears to have been available since Dec 2012, so I'm wondering why the update occurred only today?

This firmware appears to have been available since Dec 2012, so I'm wondering why the update occurred only today?

Was that particular update available to your carrier at that time? Updates usually get pushed out when the carrier is ready.

I guess that is possible, I'm with three.co.uk, but my phone is unlocked, so shouldn't the update occur as soon as Samsung are ready?
