Hey guys,

Need some advice from all of you.

Dropped my note 2 smetime back(well i didnt, my cousin did it,,:( ) and well,
the phone is working fine, sure there are the hang ups, where the screen freezes. and i have to restart the phone.. dont know whether this is because of the fall, or just smethng else.

Anyway, the glass is broken pretty bad, and doesnt look alright. What i need to ask is should i get it changed? ill be anyway buying a new phone in smetime, so is it worth getting the glass repaired? I checked at my local shop, and theyre quoting 180$.yuppp :(. Dont think the broken glass will have any affect.. or maybe it already has..

the only downside right now is the visual aesthetics. nthn else..

So guys, if the broken glass would have any effect, then ill have it changed,, but dont just wna have it done just fr the heck of it.

Thanks

Vik

From what I understand, replacing the glass only (not LCD panel) on a modern day phone display is not impossible for the average user. I would recommend doing some research and seeing how involved it is on the Note 2. I would check the cost of replacement glass, and see how much money is saved in making an attempt at it yourself. If I were you, and I could save 100 dollars in attempting my own replacement, I would do it. Any less would be a debate in my book. Really depends on your technical savvy.

Do you have insurance with your wireless provider?

Sorry that happened to you Vik but in all realness, no one can tell you whether or not the broken screen is going to have any affect on the overall usage of the phone.

We can't possibly know if there has been any other damage so it's very possible your phone can be fine today and not tomorrow.

I'm of no use when it comes to repairs and I'm guessing since you didn't mention it you don't have insurance. The best advice (IMO) has already been given. I'd check YouTube just to see a replacement screen video then ask yourself if you think it's something you can do if you want to save money.
