Help Note 2 shows as "empty folder" in Win 8

When I connect my Note 2 to my PC it shows up in File Explorer. But when I go to look at it, file explorer says "This folder is empty". Of course it is not empty as the phone works just fine. I just cant install or remove anything anymore.

Any suggestions?

When I connect, the phone says Connected as a Media Device. I have tried changing cables and ports, but still cant access the device through File Explorer. Device Manager shows Samsung Android Phone with no exclamations. Really strange, I put some movies on it just yesterday.

Try rebooting the pc with the phone connected via usb..if that does not work. Uninstall and reinstall the drivers. Are you using kies? Or did you download seperate drivers?

I was not using Kies, but I did download and install and it seems to work except I can not seem to be able to transfer any data type files onto my Note. I can move media stuff, but not any docs or pdf or xls. Before I could just drag and drop stuff into a Docs folder on my SD card, no more.

I have not reinstalled the drivers. I assume I can go into device manager and just delete the device and when I plug it back in Device Manger will go and get the correct drivers?

You would have to go to dm. Right click and choose uninstall. Reboot. Have drivers ready. Connect phone. Point to the drivers you wish to install.
