Note 2 Size Comments?

NJRonbo

Android Enthusiast
Just sold my Galaxy S3 and patiently awaiting the release of the Note 2 on November 9th from AT&T.

Question....

Is everyone comfortable with the size of the Note 2?

Does it fit comfortably in the pocket or does it seem bulky? Does it easily slide in and out of the pants pocket?

Does it feel odd to have something so big next to the ear when making a phone call?

Any problems with finger typing due to increased size?

Just wondering if the larger size is becoming a problem for anyone. I ask all of this because I have never actually held one of these phones in my hand.

No problems at all here. Until otterbox comes out with the holstered defender I've been forced to pocket carry with the oem flip case and it has been very comfortable in my weak side front pocket. I've been using Bluetooth since they invented them so I haven't had to hold a phone to my face in a long time but the Bluetooth works perfectly while the phone is in my pocket. Svoice works very well so I can dial without touching the phone. Other than that the size hasn't been an issue at all.

I went by T-Mobile to pay with one yesterday, and I actually thought it was going to be bigger. I don't foresee any problems whatsoever using it as my everyday device, let alone carrying it in my pocket. I would actually prefer it being a little bigger.

Picked mine up yesterday and I LOVE the size of this beast. My wife thinks I am crazy and said that it is not functional as a phone in public unless I want to look silly.

I don't care about looking silly, I am a grown-ass man and can handle it.

Haters are gonna hate. ;)

I could care less what other people think about something I paid for. I've used mine wired, w/BT and up to my ear. Most negative comments come from people who wish they had one. :p

As far as size comments, the one I get the most is DAYUMMMMM!!!!

People are dumb they will have something stupid to say yet buy an ipad mini and have an iphone and carry around each thing and say wow your phone is too big.

i would say back your phone is too small and your tablet is too big LOL

Yesterday the guys at Sprint were shocked when I opened the box. They couldn't believe that I ordered this phone and was so excited for it's arrival.

There is definitely an "elephant in the room" when you pull this thing out haha. Customers who were walking in were asking me if it was the new Ipad Mini....I almost shyt myself.

NO WAY this is the new Note 2!!! "A what?"...the confusion sets in deeper. I had to explain to each person it was actually a phone and not a mini-ipad or mini-kindle fire hd.

But anyway congrats to everyone who already has one and good luck to all that are waiting.

I just picked one up yesterday from a local sprint store and I have to say I absolutely love it. Had the S3 for almost a week and just could not resist anymore. Im happy this phone is just amazing the size and the Spen is so useful and just enhances the whole experience. I have about 3GB of books on my phone and I love that I can read now anywhere i go and not have to log around my tablet anymore. Its worth it!!!

LOL!!!!
I was the 1st in the door to get one when the store opened at 8 a.m.
2nd customer was getting an old flip phone he paid $5 for activated.
3rd customer also got the white note but his transaction was taking place on the other side of the store so we didn't share a bonding moment like kindred spirits. :p

While in the grocery just now people at a distance thought it was the S3 til they got closer. Most were amazed, a few said they could never use something that big and one looked like he was going to bust me in the head in the parking lot and take it. :(

Answer to all of your questions is "absolutely not."

Now that we've all been handling large screen phones and tablets, I really do find this form factor a natural step in the evolution of these devices. Besides any 'weirdness' you might feel will be dispelled as you use this beast to go about your daily business. ;-)

I think anyone coming from a 3.5" screen to 5.5" would have a stroke. For them it may take some getting used to since the increase was suddenly massive rather than a gradual increase.

The size you get used to just by using it. It sits just right in your palm as if you're holding a babies bottom!!! :)

You're probably right but odds are if you're moving from an iPhone to an Android device, chances are one of the reasons is you want a bigger screen anyway and would be somewhat prepared for the change.

Speaking just for myself, I moved from iOS to Android because I was bored. At the time, screen size wasn't a factor because my first was the HTC Hero and that screen is not huge by any stretch of the imagination. From there was the Evo.

I stopped by the local Sprint store today and looked at the Note 2. Didn't seem too big to me, and I'm not that big of a guy. They were all sold out except for a single white unit.

That is why I skipped iPhone 5 after being an iPhone user for 6 years.

I was bored with iOS.

Android isn't perfect. There are still times I greatly miss how well iOS handles everything -- especially across all my Apple devices.

But screen size WAS the big factor for me. I am tired of squinting at tiny iPhone screens. I got the GS3 right before I learned about the Note 2. Fortunately I was able to sell my GS3 on eBay for $400 so I don't mind paying the out-of-contract price.

Today was the first day I held the device in my hand and I would say its larger than I'm used to coming from the dark side lol. I could def get used to it tho, I wear an extra small in medical gloves so you can kinda tell how small my hands are. I just pre ordered mines and can't wait till its in my hand and I can keep it and not give it back to the TMO lady lol.

You're gonna have to super glue your Note to your hand. :D Would love to see a pic of your tiny hand and massive phone when you get it.

I'm leaving Sprint. Tired of slow data speeds. Have 4g with Verizon in my area, so I'm jumping to Big Red when they get it.
Completely understandable. In that case you can have your card back. :p
