Note 2 vs iPhone 5

"Apple is stable and i recommend it to anyone who isn't tech savvy because you can't 'break' it lol"

Ugh, please no more "tech savvy" comments in regards to Android versus Apples OS. Just because someone is very talented at tinkering with Androids OS, that doesn't endow them with any extraordinary technical skills. It just means the like to tinker, nothing more. "Tech savvy" is virtually meaningless, not to mention it can be considered insulting depending on the context.

I love tinkering and customizing. Apple is stable and i recommend it to anyone who isn't tech savvy because you can't 'break' it lol

For someone that likes hacking and customizing, then yea android is probably the better route. The options just go on and on.

Hi Kage. Im not one who tries to dissuade anyone from one device over another. Ive had my Note 2 since launch day and the issues youre having I've not experienced.

Now OTH, I detested my iPhone 5. It felt like a downgrade to me which is why I returned it. I'm not going to get into all my dislikes about it other than to say we all have different pleasures.

Sorry the Note 2 didn't meet your expectations but you seem like you'll be much happier with the iPhone anyway.
Best wishes to you.

I have used 'palmtops' since the psion, I loved the original HTC XDA's and went through most of them in the days when you could renew your phone a lot more often on contract. The iPhone came out and credit to them they forced HTC to stop relying on windows mobile and start developing more functionality.
5 years down the line I was glad to get out of the applesphere, and only having bought one thing that I can no longer listen to (Alan Partridge audiobook!) I am so glad that I am no longer forced to do everything through iTunes.

The one thing that stands this apart from many other brands is the battery, 2 anker spares which seem to outperform the original and I can now camp for a week without turning the van engine on to charge the battery. With the iPhone I could last a day at most, and that was with limited use due to the low coverage in rural areas.

This phone is more than a phone, the iPhone is an advanced phone, this note 2 is a basic computer (well. perhaps not basic in some terms....its faster and more powerful than the room full of computers I am forced to teach with in the UK education system!!!).

I mean that I can happily use the note 2 for most things I would otherwise have used my PC for. The stylus makes this possible. I use a lot of spreadsheets, on the iPhone it was possible but a real pita having to zoom in and out all the time, the stylus eliminates the need to do that.....I have big hands and trying to get the right cell with my thumb is a nightmare, weirdly I could do it well on the tiny 3in screen on the xda mini a few years ago.
