Note 2 with unlimited data: what am I missing here?

I currently have an iPhone 4S with Verizon, and I have unlimited data. The iPhone does not have 4g so I'm now looking at the Note2 with its awesome screen. If I get this thing it will be my phone and might be enough to be a tablet for me, and I get 4g lte speeds in my area. This just seems to good to be true, is there something I'm missing here? I never used much data with my 3G iPhone, though with 4g lte speeds and this screen I can see myself using lots. Is anyone using the Note with unlimited data?

Thanks.

yes, except you can't carry over your unlimited data plan, unless you upgrade at full price. Verizon will stuff you into a 2 gb plan or share everything plan if you upgrade with a new 2 year contract.

Yup, I know about that. I am prepared to pay full price. Is there anything else I'm not considering here?

+1 the only way to keep the unlimited data would be to pay the ~$650 unsubsidized price for the phone, and even then I don't know if your plan is "unlimited 4g" or "unlimited 3g" they might not even give you 4g. Not sure how VZW functions with that.

Don't know if this will help you or not, I'm in the UK using a note 2 on a 3g network with unlimited data. I've found that with an hspa+ signal the phone is faster than ANYTHING else around.

Do you guys have LTE there? I'm not sure, I know it isn't really big in europe at all.

My friend is on att.. He had the iphone 4..and always thought he had unlimited data.. Grandfathered. He upgraded to iphone 5..with LTE... Never really used a lot of data.. Now he knows.

Unlimited data but throttled after 5GB.. Down to 500kbs.. Each month
We get both 3g and LTE here..

This might be the same at Verizon

I'd suspect you would watch things like youtue and other streaming apps at a higher resolution to take advantage of the screen. I.e. with my old droid x I have now, I do not watch HD videos over the network since there will be no additional detail for me to see at my standard screen. Other than that, not sure what an hd screen would do for more data use than 3G. I don't often use my phone for internet without wifi since it's so slow on 3G. Perhaps with 4G, that will change. That would cause my usage to go up.

It's my understanding whatever your plan is now will remain the same just as long as you're paying full price for the phone as you've already stated you're prepared to do.

I have not had 4g lte before so I do not really have much to base my possible usage off of. I'm guessing that it will be that much easier to watch video with the faster connection speed and with a larger screen.

How much data do you use with your Note?

I just switched to T-mobile and I'm quite happy with their speed. HSPA is pretty damn impressive. I have been testing the SN2 around the city and it has been pretty phenomenal. Highest speed so far = 17 mbs download. Sprint was miserable. I refuse to go to verizon/att with their caps.

What are you missing? Your Note 2! :p Seriously, I've been using at least Google experience phones if not actual Nexus devices since day one and this is the first "skinned" phone I've even considered. Sure, there's a couple of things I miss but I think I'll easily make an exception and find work-arounds. It really is that amazing of a device for any of us coming from anything that isn't of the current "up to the moment" devices. This is replacing a GNex for me and for my criteria, this even easily out-classes the Nexus phone that was just announced. (YMMV)
