Help Note 3 black screen - have to do battery pull

SFWB

Over that last few weeks, I've had this happening every so often. After a phone call, the screen is black and I have to do a battery pull to get it working again. I notice the screen is black during the call and can't do anything about it. Once the call ends, I try everything and end up having to do a battery pull.

Am I alone? My phone is stock (but rooted).

I had a few instances of this. But mostly I would just have to hit the home button after a call to wake the screen back up. Or it would come back on it's own after the other party hung up.
I has to do with the proximity sensor. Either it's bad or there's something blocking it. The most common cause is dust. Try blowing some compressed air in the speaker towards the two little sensors. That works for me for 3 to 4 weeks then I have to do it again. There are a few youtube videos how to fix it permanently but you have to take the phone apart.

Thanks for the tip. I'll give that a shot.
