Note 3 protect data sd card

Protect the data on the sd card of the Note3. The Samsung "find my mobile" option "wipe out my mobile" don't wipe the sd card I believe?
I have the app Encryption manager from the play store, to protect/encrypt important data on my sd card, in case I lost my Note 3.
How do you protect you're data on the sd card?

Encryption is cool but can be a pain if something goes wrong.

Under the security setting, you can encrypt both the internal and external sdcards. This means that if someone gets your phone and they reset the device or remove the external sdcard, the files cannot be accessed, period. Once encrypted, the files can only be accessed by your phone in it's current state. To access the files after a factory reset or on another device/mechine, the sdcard must be are de-crypted first; plus a factory reset wipes the internal memory, so that does not matter. As long as you set a lock on your device, then they can never de-crypt your sdcard and the files are safe.

Warning, if your phone crashes and you have to do a factory reset before you de-crypt the sdcard, you will lose those files. So always have a backup.
