Help Note 3 screen is to dim

My note 3 screen is very dim. I have it set on auto dim and screen mode set to movie with adapt Display checked. Not sure why its so dim. If i uncheck thr auto brightness the screen becomes very bright.. .

And in daylight, if you uncheck autobrightness, turn it up all the way, then check autobrightness, it'll get even brighter. Autobrightness is one of those things that only works if you don't think about it. If you expect it to keep the screen-to-ambient light ratio constant, you'll be disappointed.

Auto-brightness is a pretty cool feature but a lot of people use the slider bar to manually adjust the brightness level to something they're comfortable with. Myself I keep the screen at 3/4 brightness most of the time and only manually turn it down when I'm reading in bed with the lights out. The battery in the Note 3 is such a beast that whatever brightness level you set it at you're practically guaranteed a full day of usage regardless of the brightness level depending on which apps you're using.

Thanks for replying to my post on note 3 being too dim..
Its werid but i will have the box checked for auto brightness be in a dark room no lighting and its still dim... Were my girlfriend has the same exact for and same exact setting and its bright at least 3 x more....

It is something that actually requires calibrating in bright light. :)

As mentioned turn it off and turn it up to full in bright sunlight, then tick the box. This worked for me and the screen is always bright enough to use.

Mine did that and what I did was use the pull down menu and slide it over to the power savings icon hit that and turned it off now my screens auto brightness works as it should.

check and see if power saving mode is on. I had to turn that off for my auto brightness to work right. If I leave that on the screen stays dark all the time.

I have auto brightness OFF and my slider all the way to the right.
My big beautiful screen is clear and bright, just gorgeous.
Why would anyone want to "dim" it ???

Yes it is lovely full brightness, but what if your in the middle of nowhere hiking using GPS to direct you ? I'd want everything I could running on minimal power to conserve my battery. GPS is a complete battery hog.

Another one, in bed reading I don't want it lighting the whole bedroom, even if it's charging and draining the battery is not an issue.

In normal use I'm with you though, I never dim the screen.
