Note 3 users going to the Note 4

I'm skipping the Note 4 to try out Boomsound on the HTC (M8). So far I've got to say the M8 is a kicka** Multimedia device. Drexappeal's comparison list was also a factor in my decision even though he hadn't posted it when I made the switch.

i cant lie being a youtube junkie I was not pleased about the note 3 speaker being on the bottom and then they moved it to the back on the and that hurt even more I know on the nexus 6 it does have duel front facing spekers that sound really good but its not the same "boomsound" that was one of many deciding factors that pushed me towards the 6

An M8 w/capacitive buttons would be AWESOME (add wireless charging & forget all other devices).

You nailed it as the best multimedia device, I still miss having BLINKFEED & SENSE TV.

you know you can still run sense TV all you gotta do if find the apk side load it and using root explorer change your build prop to the M8 and the manufacture to HTC you should have it no problem I did this so my family can have milk music on there nexus 5's

I've had BLINKFEED on other devices w/o changing the build.prop.
It's loading up,just not working (f/c).

Not sure which lines to edit & exactly how (upper case/lower case/ETC...).

I've made a copy of my build.prop & backed-up the ROM,just in case.

I posted a thread here:

http://androidforums.com/rooted-devices-only/882620-htc-blinkfeed-non-htc-device.html#post6792216

Gonna cruise over to XDA tomorrow, getting late, even for this night owl.

Holla @ ya later............. :thumb:

catch ya around later man

here is the video I used showing how to change the build prop to get milk on the nexus

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fsZlJihvsys

it was fairly easy but it does require you to have the pro version of root explore to change the build prop file to writable so you can manually edit the make and model there

i would save my money wait for s6 or go with lg or sony... samsung has become boring... note 3 and note 4 not a big change..... :{

The problem with the M8 is that while the speakers are awesome, the phone is too heavy to use decently as a PMP if you do any type of sports. Really, the weight compared even to the Note 3 is very noticeable. It's just too much for me. It can completely throw you off depending on what you're doing (like anything that requires rotation, you will full the pull of that device on you and in some cases it can pull you off axis).

Secondly, 5.0" screens aren't all that baller for video, and I personally prefer AMOLED screens to LCD for watching videos, personally. LCDs always look like there is a film over the picture (due to how the backlight works in them). It looks bad to me.

Lastly, I find HTC's CODEC support inferior to Samsung's, and the battery life of the M8 when watching videos, etc. is way worse than the Note Series. It feels more like an iPhone 5S IRT battery life during multimedia tasks.

I have an M8 and a Note 3. I don't even use it. It sits in a drawer, literally collecting dust. A lot of that has to do with the poorer battery life, the small screen, and the mostly the weight of the phone. It's unreasonably heavy for a device of thatsize.

i was on the fence regarding m8 and lg g3... the lack of a removable battery sealed the deal for me.. other than that htc made another great phone....

Well, I got lucky today (if you can call it that). Samsung had the Note 4 DE back in stock so I bought one. Overnight shipping. I got my order confirmation, but no shipping notification yet. The Note 3 has been a phenomenal device... so this will be a Note on steroids! :D

Good luck with the new phone good sir I am in the same boat waiting for my device to get to me but I am looking at maybe Dec. 2-5 until I get my phone from moto or tmo so i know I am in for a long wait

SHIPPING! I'll have it tomorrow! Better yet, they waived the overnight shipping charge... and still better, because my first order arrived as a Galaxy Note 3 DE, they're rolling back the price to the original $629!

This all remains to be seen, of course. I'll really believe it when it hits my account but at least they're owning up to it :D

I'm really on the fence. I'm upgrading Monday. If they have any 64GB iPhone 6 or 6 Plus in stock I'll probably get that. Otherwise, I think I will wait a few more months and see if any decent Android offerings from other OEMs get released. The Note 4 is the best on the market in the Android ecosystem right now, but I'm seriously giving myself as many chances as I need to avoid buying another Samsung device.

Really peeved Verizon didn't get the Real Xperia Z3 :-(

Odds are better you'll be happy with the iPhone 6 or 6 Plus.

You seem to have emotional ties to iOS, iPhones, and Apple. Considering all the posts and time you've spent here discussing iPhones, I simply can't imagine anything else working for you.

Fact is you know you want one, just buy it and be done agonizing.

Drop that kind of language - we all know what it means, yet people like using it because it never gets them infracted.

MY N6 is here in my had and I have had a few days to break it in and I can say I am not regretting my choice one bit :D
there a few kinks that it had that sometime can be a little annoying but none of them are a deal breaker for me

AnonGuy, have you considered buying the Note 4 Developer Edition directly from Samsung? They're in high demand, supply is low, you might get lucky straight out or you might have to wait until more are in stock... but it's a standard Verizon Note 4 but with an unlocked bootloader so you can tinker and mod to your heart's content. Works great: but only if you're on Verizon...
