The Galaxy Note 8 is finally official. Nothing out of the ordinary happened at the event. The leaks kinda ruined the surprise, as usual. What do you guys think about it now? Are you going to buy it?

YES I WANT ONE, BUT I CANT LIVE IN A PHONE OR EAT IT IF HUNGRY.Ugh, nearly 1k, I mean I saw that coming, prices have steadily risen, but my goodness. It just hurts to think about. A grand!
actually i ran out of carriers to have one that wont imprison me with a payment plan or unlocking.Ugh, nearly 1k, I mean I saw that coming, prices have steadily risen, but my goodness. It just hurts to think about. A grand!
add taxes and fees and lost value of tradeinNote 8 prices I've seen reported...
Verizon - $960
T-Mobile - $930
Looks like a nice phone, but wow that's expensive.
its curved but lesser radiusI've always had the Samsung note and really don't want any other phone. However I hate the curved screens. If the note 8 only comes with the curved screen. They can keep it. I'll just have to get another note 5. I just don't get the curved screens. They are so hard to hold and when you put a case on them. It just wont stay on. What a shame. Terrible design.
the s8 plus is almost half price. save the anguish and get a stylus like me.500 for s8 plus with tradeJesus Christmas I cannot pay that for this phone. I have waited a long time for it, too. I mean like I said I sorta expected it but.... sigh... I dunno, looks like I need to consider sticking with my 4 or going non-flagship.
It sounds like you won't be buying another Note, or Samsung flagship of any sort, in the foreseeable future. If you leave out the niche Galaxy S Active devices (which seem to be made for 1 carrier in 1 country) their last flat-screened flagship was the smaller S7, 18 months ago. This is the second curved Note in a row, and as the S8 has been outselling the S7 it's unlikely we'll see a flat-screened Samsung flagship next year either.I've always had the Samsung note and really don't want any other phone. For the most part subsidizing has gone away, replaced by installment plans and discounts if you turn in your old phone (so the carrier can refurbish and resell it). What happened to carriers subsidizing handset costs. Don't they do that anymore?
