Help Note taking

I am thinking about getting the transformer in replacement of my Asus netbook for school. Would this be a bad idea? How is the polaris office application for taking notes, looking at powerpoints, maybe writing a paper on? Anyone else plan on using the transformer similarly?

The transformer will not give you any thing more than your netbook. I would think you will be able to work better on the netbook. Even with the keyboard tablets are not meant for high productivity. Stick with the netbook.

There are many notepad and word processing android apps out there. I have a free notepad app and Documents To Go that I used on my Archos 101 and on my EVO that worked well. Quickoffice Pro HD is out and confirmed to work with Honeycomb. I recommend both DGT and QOffice because they both have google Documents syncing and editing capability.

I think its a great idea to use the Transformer for what you want to do.

That is exactly the same reason I'm buying the Transformer, so the reviews that talk about how the keyboard is actually useful for typing are encouraging. My wife has an HP netbook with the worst keyboard and trackpad in the world, so if I can get a better typing experience with an OS that I already enjoy and a detachable touch screen for browsing around the house, then I'm sold. I also plan to try out the latest release of EverNote.

I know the apps are out there but I've yet to have one in my hands so the reviews are all I am going by for keyboard usability.

Potentially, A tablet has more flexibility than a netbook, but I'm not aware of any software solutions that would make good use of the tablet functionality. Personally, I would love it. Had to stand in the back of a review session at school today with my TM2T as there weren't enough desks. It started to get rather heavy. I'd have preferred to have my Xoom, but it doesn't have MS One Note...

I bought the Quick Office HD for Tablet. It makes the tablet a productivity tool. I especially like it sycn with Google docs and Dropbox. Now with the transformer keyword, it can slowly replace my notebook while traveling.

With polaris included, what benefits does quick office hd offer? Does polaris not sync?

i have the same question. unless quick office HD is prettier...what more can it do?
i know th polaris works with google docs...thats all i need!

I don't know Polaris is included. I bought Quick Office HD for my Xoom. QO integrated with Dropbox and Google Docs.

well if you already had it on the xoom. would hate to see you spend money you didn't have to. now you can do a comparison of the two apps for us :)

I can do that. First I have to buy a Transformer first. =) It's launching tmrw but still can't find it on Amazon. :/
