the Rogers screen @ tha boot is killing me (running on Virgin, for now :) )
couple of their "little red" apps were there, I couldn't remove but just hide them aside. Didn't bothered me much until find out they running for updates. Enough is enough, they must go.
What is the way to root the phone? Not finding anything specific to:

kernel 2,6.35.11 (and nothing else is there in front or after)
model # SGH-1717R
baseband 1717RUXLA2

I don't know yet what the above means, would like to learn things Im asking for your help.

k'mon, anybody can direct me where is that Rogers bootup screen is located?
Im ready to root the thing, but first to know what and where to find?

I am seeing lot of questions everywhere regards to a rooting, the answers broken or the best advise Google it?
niiice,
wouldn't be easier just make a working sticky with a A-Z instructions?
Some people say rooting is not safe, Samsung can trace it, others saying possible to do it without living a proof that anything happened,
other than relaying on youtube do we have a guru here who is confident to point in direction ->
what if my kernel is a simple 2.6.35.11 and nothing else is there? what this means?
->rooting was done before I got it or we don't have a solution yet?

go to xda developers there you can find the answers to your question. to me rooting is safe, just read and follow the instructions carefully. i have rooted my international note immediately when it arrives and i was never sorry. my suggfestion is to flash a different firmware because it is not safe to just delete anything from the network installed rom.

where can I find that thingy,
when the phone boots and shows Rogers? I want to remove that boot screen and reverse it back to Samsung Note if that exist.....

I see you've located the Note All Things Root sub-forum here.

it's located in \system\media and you need to be rooted to access this. it should have a png file extension or a file called bootanimation.zip, be careful because i think if you would just delete that thing, you might end up in a boot loop. you must flash another stock firmware if you don't want the carrier's start up animation. by flashing another stock firmware and rooting it, you can customize safely your boot animation. there's a lot you can choose at xda developers here

good luck
