Help Noticable delay with screen turning on?

So of you followed my latest "journey", I had a perfectly funtiocnal phone, I screwed up the lockscreen font sending me into bootloop, I managed to eventually get an update zip that flashed the correct lockscreen font to the phone, and all is well. Except for one annoying thing

I noticed now when I press the power button to wake the phone, the bottom capacitive buttons will light up first, then the display will light up. There's a noticeable lag where there wasn't one before.

Thinking it might be my system, I took a nandroid backup, then factory reset the phone (Settings -> Privacy -> Factory Reset). When it was done reloading the factory restore, I tried turning the screen off and on, delay was still there. I restored my backup, phone was back to normal, but delay was still there.

Any ideas where this delay came from? I'm going to try flashing a few other backups I have and see of they all do it.

I have the same issue from time to time its noticeable to the point where I will press the power button again.. and when it does wake, it will shut off right away. I have done nothing to my phone, it would be nice to know what is causing this issue, but to me its not the biggest deal

I'm trying to think of what has changed on the device that could hav caused it. It's a pretty small list

Clockopia.ttf: I have a new version of this font than what was originally there. However, doing a system restore from the phone should have wiped out /system and reloaded it, which would have provided a stock Clockopia, and the problem was still there, so that doesn't appear to be it

Size of SD Card: I now have 2 backups taking up about a GB of space, but I unmounted and puled out the SD Card entirely, no difference

Custom Recover: This is the only chnage that I can think of that has been made between the phone not having the issue and having it have the issue. I have no idea why it would matter, but just for S&G's I'll yank CWM recovery and put the old one back on, it only takes a second, and see if that makes a difference

Other than that, the only thing I can think of is hardware damage from tapping the phone to get the battery out several times while I was boot looping

something else that's interesting:

My wallpaper is that default gray one with the spotlight on it, and as you move through the screens, the posiiton of the spotlight changes from left to center to right. Before, the lockscreen always showed the slice of the background as it looked on my home screen, which I have set to be left. Now, it shows the opposite, it shows the wallpaper as it looks from the farhtest right screen. Odd that it would change like that...

Even stranger, I swapped out CWM for the stock recovery, didn't matter to the delay, but now the lack screen is showing the middle sectoin of the wallpaper, not the first or third sections ...

I have something similar, but not quite. Maybe this will help you?

I had Weather & Toggle Widgets with the Weather Widget Forecast Addon (paid). There is a setting for "Unlock Animation" which basically means when you unlock the phone, there will be a weather animation shown. During this 2-3 seconds of animation, you can't click / do anything. Unselecting this got rid of the delay for me. The animation is/was very faint, so it was hard to notice it was even there (what a waste, IMO).

I'm running HTC Incredible, with CM7.1 and a few extras. I have zero delays now that the animation is turned off. Check some of your weather widgets (or other widgets for that matter).

Hope this helps.
