Root Notifacation bar question.

Notification bar not working properly after Holo upgrade.
APB nor AVG show as they use to.
When getting email or message, the ringtones work but when pulling down the window shade nothing is there. They did before the upgrade.

Any ideas?

Thank you for replying.

The phone now has JB 4.1.2 from Verizon.
Holo was installed via Google when ICS 4.0.4 was installed.
Holo was automatically updated several days ago.
After the update the problems started.

The typical diagnostic steps to verify that the problem is what you think it may be...

Uninstall the suspected program, restart the phone and then check if the problem exists or not.

If the problem does get resolved... reinstall the program, restart the phone and check again. Many times a program can get corrupted during and install... this verifies if it is a conflict or was just a corruption.

That's generally true, yes, but I believe that the OP is talking about the Holo Launcher. If Holo was the only launcher installed, either it cannot be uninstalled or it could be dangerous to uninstall it.

Again, installing another launcher (like Nova) - which you should be able to do from the Play Store in a web browser - means that the next time you press Home, it will ask which app you want to use for Home, and let you choose Nova.

Also, one thing to try is to go into settings, apps, under "All" find the listing for "Holo", tap it and see if there is a button "uninstall updates." That might do it, too. Still, in case it messes up the launcher, you may want to have another installed to switch to, just in case. You can always uninstall it later.

Interesting... I'd always left the launcher that came with whatever ROM I run installed... I just changed which was the default
