Help Notifcation tones

I have HTC inspire (with AT&T) I am having trouble in setting my notification tones. When I do change them it will revert back to the default tones. OK what gives and how do I fix this?

Are you changing the default notification tone in Menu>Settings>Sound? If so, you might want to try changing the settings in Menu>Personalize (Scroll Down) >Notification sound.

My phone does the same thing. I have changed the default tone dozens of times in every place possible but after a week or so, it will kick back and I won't be able to find the tone I downloaded from the HTC Hub anywhere. I will have to uninstall the sound, reinstall it, then re-apply it. Does anyone know why this happens?
