Notification area

On android 2.x, the notification area was segmented. One part was the ongoing processes that put items on the notification area (task switchers and the like) and actual notifications (events).

On android 4.x it seems that they are intermingled. Is there a particular reason that anyone knows why this is? Is there a way to segment the 4.x to behave like the 2.x?

Thank you for your input.

In 4.3 (in Samsung, it may be a Touchwiz thing, but I doubt it), there's an "Ongoing" header at the top, and a "Notifications" header after that. ("Notifications" is on the left side of the same bar that "Clear" is on.)

I dont know if that is "touchwiz" or whatever ...the 2.3 that Im referring is as far as I know pure android....Is there any notification area modifier or overlay that would do this?

@funkylogik:

I am in the process of learning how to root this phone (LG Optimus F3) 1) its loaded with crap (bloatware) 2) I hate the way that email notifications are presented 3) I would like to separate the notifications as they were on my 2.x

If I root the phone, how would I change the notification area?

Thx

Tbh i dont know how to do that but now that youre rooted (well done), look into Xposed Framework. Thats probably the best way to alter things on a rooted device :thumbup:
