notification assignment

how do you assign a unique notification sound for each contact (as opposed to ringtone)?

if there is no way to do this by the default options, is an app available?

i realize there is one that does random sounds for notifications.. this confuses and ANGERS me!

any help would be appreciated.

On my HTC Magic {same as MyTouch} you go too :

If you want to use some music you have on your phone as a ringtone you have to download an Free app called Rings Extended First and then Follow the above instructions. If not you can use teh default ringtones available but it is a small selection.

Contacts -> Select the contact you want -> Press the Menu Button -> Edit -> Scroll down To "Ringtone" -> Click it and select a Ring Tone! -> done
