Help Notification bar disappeared

Hi all,

I looked through the suggested threads, and they either had to do with rooted phones with other ROMs or were not answered. My Elite (with stock ROM obviously) only shows the notification bar when the phone is locked or when I make a downward swipe which brings down the entire notification screen. When push the notification screen back up, the bar disappears.

How did this happen and how do I get it to reappear? I don't see anything in the settings that would toggle this behavior.

(this type of thing is a huge android pet peeve of mine... I didn't choose to make the notification bar go away. the best I can tell is that I made an up swipe on the home screen and then the notification bar never came back, but I can't verify that.)

Are you using the stock launcher? I know GO Launcher and I'm sure others have an option to hide the notification bar.

Are you using stock launcher or a 3rd party one like adw or go? I don't think you can hide status bar on stock. I know with adw launcher you can swipe upward on the screen to hide or show the status bar

Ah, that helped. I thought I had uninstalled ADW for the time being, but I guess not. Now that I see where the preferences are, I see that there are options for what happens when you swipe up or swipe down, but it doesn't seem to have an option for "nothing". Seems a little strange that I must have some action happen when I randomly swipe up on the home screen.

Anyway, thanks for the help. I knew it was something right under my nose, but I didn't know which way to turn.
