Help Notification led stuck on

Noticed this a few days after applying the rooted .596. My notification led is stuck on blue. If i pull the battery and put it back in the light instantly comes back on even before the phone boots up. I've reverted to froyo and still can't get it to go away, it comes and goes, from very dim to very bright.

Anyone have any suggestions or is it a hardware problem?

Have you tried causing the LED to blink another color? If you receive a text message (or calender, email, or facebook message) would it switch away from blue to a different color? Also you could try light flow which would allow an app to override your standard LED functionality.
