Does anyone know if the HTC Thunderbolt have a notification led? I like the thunderbolt and want it for my next phone.

i think it would, all htc phones do...don't they?

edit: well no i guess the N1 doesn't have LED notifications, even so i think the TB will.

I'm pretty sure in one of the hands on videos I've seen (I wish I could remember which but I've seen so many I cant) that I did see a notification light flash real quick. it might have been one of the videos on droid life

I would like to know the answer to this as well. Now that the Thunderbolt is out, maybe someone can confirm this definitively.

The N1 (my current phone) most certainly does have a notification LED. It is behind the trackball.

It has one but it goes off after 5 minutes. And it's not nearly as noticeable as the Droid X light or Atrix light especially from an angle since it's behind the speaker grill. It's also only two color, amber vs green. Like Blackberries, the Droid X light will continue to blink forever too until you clear the notification.

But I still prefer the TB, but I also am a big fan of HTC Sense. Wish I had gotten to know it sooner.

I really like the location and style of the notification LED. You'd never know it was there when it's not flashing, but it's noticeable enough when it is.

The LED is under the grille just like the Evo. I see in that pic that the LED is amber. Is it also green? On the Evo, it flashes green when there's a missed call/text.

Follow up question (less likely to be answered)... can you change the blink rate? Go SMS has a setting for color and blink rate. Just axing.

I don't think any app will change the blinking rate (or color).

Now that the phone is here and people have tried it out, can you change the LED color for different notifications? My wife has a Droid 2 and she has about 8 different colors that she can change the notifications to. I hope this is a feature built into this phone...

It doesn't. It has Green and Amber, that's all. Just like the Incredible.

Too bad. It is a nice feature. Not a deal breaker, but something I think they should incorporate..

I guess any LED is better than no LED (iPhone).

I had an app called "missed call" on the first motorola droid. It had about 8 different colors and could be used for different notifications. It doesn't seem to work on the TB.
BTW...there is also a red LED light that comes on when the battery is down to like 10%

Oh yah I forgot about the red LED. Is that even usable for alerts? I can never get anything other than Green or Amber.

Does anyone know if there's a "timeout" on the LED. For example, if the notification goes unchecked for x hours, the LED stops blinking. It seems to be the case, but I can't confirm.
