Help Notification LED

Hi

For how long is the notification LED supposed to keep blinking? I would have thought it would keep going until you unlock the phone and take a look at the message or whatever. I'm sure mine goes out after a time, but before I've looked.

On a related note, I used SMSPopup for my text message notifications, primarily to extend the vibration alert. Is there anyway to not have the popup show on the lock screen when a text message arrives BUT have the screen light up? If I disable the popup it seems the alert goes off but the screen remains switched off/dark...

The LED will blink for 5 minutes and then switch off, unless there's another notification. HTC have said this limitation is in the hardware and is for the purpose of saving power.

There are apps (like Handcent) that work around this, e.g. by allowing you to reset the LED every 5 minutes. Search Android Market with something like 'LED notification' for more.
