Help Notification light doesn't stop blinking

Los88

Newbie
My Notification light will continue to blink even though my phone says I have nothing new. I have checked sms, missed calls, email, Facebook... Am I the only one with this problem?

Have you tried turning off your notification LED to see if it continues to blink? What color is it blinking BTW? If it's blinking amber then it may not be a casual notification but an indicator that there's something wrong with your phone.

It blinks green and yes I went into the display settings and unchecked everything for the notification led. It will stop for awhile then randomly start again.

Do you have any notifications that aren't listed? Facebook notifications, app notifications like a news app etc?

Huh, I went to Quick Settings, Task Manager and killed Facebook and it went away.

For the record, given the typical battery life of smartphones, I'd rather shut off all LED notifications and have longer battery life. What irritated me about the Thunderbolt is how the red LED light would blink to remind you that the battery was low. What genius decided that when the battery is low, it's best to turn on MORE functions of the phone to deplete the battery even faster. What's next, banks charging you fees when your account goes below a certain amount? Oh umm yeah....

I, for one, wish the LED was MUCH brighter. It is almost useless right now. On my hTC EVO, the WiMax LED was crazy bright, and when I rooted it, I was able to assign it as my notification LED. I could see that thing blinking from halfway across the room!

I'd be shocked if it drew more than a few mW of juice, though.

For me the sound notifications are enough. I hear it once and I know to check my phone. As far as LED notifications, if I have time to look at my phone then I have time to push the power button to see if I have an email, missed phone call, or missed text message. The only real reason I like the LEDs are as a low battery/full battery charge indicator.

My Rezound has done this on more than one occasion. No texts, missed calls, emails or anything else. Once I pull down the notification window it stops. And it's blinking green. Odd.....

Haha, somehow I knew that someone would bring up the Rhyme.

I have never had the notifications work for either of my email accounts. Calls and text notifications do work well though.

this is a bug for me for everyhting, and i rememebr i had it on my inc too, its an HTC thing.....if i'm in google talk, and i'm in a thread and get a msg, i get a notification and LED flash..but then the notification goes away, and the flash continnnnnnues forever until i get another notification. it did the same for texts too, so i shut off LEDs for texting..googel talk, i cant shut them off :(

but heres a hint, if you wanna get rid of it and dont have any notifications coming, just call out to voicemail or #832 or something, then hangup, and the notification LED stops lol

I'm using handscent, and just noticed the problem. Calling and hanging up did get rid of it, but that is ridiculous. Any updates? Was GoSMS a definite solution?
