Didn't think so...thanks for the reply! I'm going back to Boost from Verizon and have been spoiled with the Droid X...lol.
I am also going back to verizon... the boost is my holdover phone until they finally decide to release the Droid Bionic...

This.I bet somehow there could be a software mod created to use the button lights as a notification light....

I use "NO LED" app. i think its great.... pops up a small icon on your phones screen...kinda like a windows screensaver...moves around the screen.

I did try this, but for some reason it didn't work, maybe because the phone is rooted and has shabbymod? Who knows...and I would think it'd be a battery killer, unless there's some kind of setting to shut off the notification after a certain amount of time...
