Help Notification mp3's

Long time lurker, first time poster. I need to somehow set up my TB to play different songs on my phone, for different contacts when they text me. Very new to android and have no clue what I need to do. On my BB this was pretty simple to do, but I cannot figure out how to do it on this phone.

I have a "cheat" way to do it. Install Handcent, it's a must have for all phones anyway (pop-up alone is worth it).

Anyway, by installing Handcent, whenever you go to set a sound, a popup comes up and asks if you want to use Android or Handcent. Select Handcent, and the checkbox that says make default. Now when you go to select sound it gives you option to point at any sound file. use RingDroid to clip your MP3's into a respectable and more effecient size.

Thanks, I would actually prefer they play the entire song. We use text messaging as a page out system and somtimes I'll sleep through the first part of a song.
