Notification Ringtone Not Recognized

I'm trying to set a stock ringtone as my notification sound, but the ringtone I hear is the old one despite it indicating it's the changed one in the area where the tones are changed (the green dot is in the one I selected, even though the sound coming through for a notification is not that one).

Is this a fixable glitch or am I missing a step somewhere on how to change the notification ringtone?
