Help Notification Ringtone problem.

I finally found somewhere I could d/l the "droid" ringtone((Here)). I placed this ringtone in the correct folder, and choose it as my notif. ringtone, but still plays the default tone for such.
I have a the Samsung Intercept for VM...I hoping the 2.1 OS isnt the problem, but we shall by your responses.

Ahead time, let me just say this is a awesome website, and a great resource for Droid users... Keep up the great work.

Nope not the issue.
It is in the correct folder, and shows the file.
Even after choosing the ringtone, it will continue to play the default sound.
LOL, and it shouldnt be to long, its the "DROOOID" robot ringtone, around 1 sec.
No matter what sound is choosen it plays the default sound.

LMAO... why is that Iam being asked the same ? over and over..LOL Read up.

Droid startup ringtone, for notifitication tone. No matter what tone is choosen, it defaults to factory tone. It's neither the size nor location of the file.

Trying not to repeat any of the questions here, but could you have set a different notification tones for different apps? You might want to check some of the messaging apps as well as SMS/MMS.

Also, have you pulled out your SD card after setting the tone? For some strange reason, my Intercept would put my ringtones on to the default after I took out my SD card put it back in.

Ok bro so i just had the same problem and i got a fix for you! All you need to do is back up all your contacts and music files on your phone. Then you have to go to setting then to privacy and reset your phone to factory setting after you do that it should work just fine! I know mine did! i know it sucks that you'll have to download all your apps and stuff again but to me its worth it! Let me know if it helps!!! ^__^ It should Much love Weezy!!!
