Notification shade - different question

Can you edit the darn thing or get rid of it? I don't like having the wifi connection and carrier showing up. I've tried everything to get rid of it.

I'm rooted, so will a custom ROM fix that? If so, which one?

Do you mean the notification shade/panel (the thing you pull down) or the status bar (the thin strip at top of screen with time, battery etc) mate?

The pull down thing that came with the phone. I have another app that puts what I want in the status bar. I don't need that pull down notification.

Which launcher disables? I have ADW paid.

That pulldown is dumb. You can't get rid of info you don't want there. Someone looks over your shoulder they can see your wifi address, your info, your carrier.

I wouldn't mind so much if it was just battery, airplane mode, data on/data off, etc.

Launchers like Nova and Go (ive never had ADW) can hide the statusbar, the thin strip at top of homescreen. If you mean the notification shade, im not sure what you mean about it showing your email address but you dont have to pull it down. Can you post a screenshot with your email hidden?

Hide the notification bar, then disable the swipe down gesture on the launcher so swiping down doesn't pull the bar down. Not sure on ADW since I have Nova Prime.

Anyway, I don't understand the "info" that you don't want to show on your notification shade. I have an unrooted stock Samsung ROM and I don't have any info or my WiFi address on my notification bar even if I am connected to WiFi. The only thing there is carrier with very small text.

I have the Nexus 4 (rooted)
Mine has a square called Me, brightness, settings, wifi, carrier, battery, airplane and bluetooth squares. Bluetooth is totally disabled, so it shouldn't even be there. Someone with a Nexus 4 would have to look. There's an icon in the upper right corner with a person on it.

I prefer stuff in the status bar where it always was. I had to install a notification app to get the info in the status bar.
I can't find the notification settings on the phone. Only for sounds.

If I press "me" - I get the contact doesn't exist. (I deleted it)

No. I still have the Rom the phone came with. I'm looking for a simple custom Rom.
The simpler, the better. I have no interest in that Pie thing or any fancies. I just want the phone's services to be more efficient.

Here's a pic from another site:

Google probably has it in services somewhere. If you know a custom Rom that will get rid of the POS, please tell me.

If I remember correctly, there's an option to turn that into a different design like the ones in the picture I sent.

Google has added a bit of personalization to the Quick Toggle panel in the notification area. Your name and photo are displayed but only after you've logged in to Google+.

My picture turned up from contacts. I don't use G+The 2 finger swipe only opens the setting swiped. If you remember how to change it, I'd appreciate it.

Notifications can be expanded and collapsed with a two-finger swipe, and the top one is expanded by default (if the app that put up the notification supports it, of course).

The italics are quotes from the site you mentioned.
