Help Notification sound question

My default notification sounds occasionally, about once or twice a month on average, without any notification icon appearing, no message, email, or anything else I can see. I have selected a sound other than the default for everything I can find to change so in theory I don't have anything left that should use the default sound. Does anyone have any idea what the notification might be indicating?
 
Facebook? This kept puzzling me, going off for no reason and it was different because you set it in the fb app under menu settings
 
Thanks, I'll look at that. I don't actually use the fb app on the desire but I guess that could still be the explanation.
