Help notification sound

I've downloaded zedge for my wallpapers and ringtones but for some reason the notification sound won't change from the original when I get texts any ideas ? Thanks in advance

Yes zedge is my favorite app for wallpapers and for ring tones and notifacations. have you noticed that there are only 4397 wallpapers and on my trans for ultra there are 55,962 wallpapers! it has something to do with the size of the wall papers and it tottaly &*sses me off. Ok back to your question cause I had the same problem when I wanted my custom notifications to be in my notification area of my phone this is what i did.. I signed up for zedge made a profile yada yada and made it so I could upload my notifacations that I made with ringdroid maker, I also noticed that zedge also has a maker where you can slide the bars where you want your tone to start & stop. so upload a tone that you want for notification and follow the 4 steps and it will finnaly be findable on zedge. Downoad the sound you want and set as ring tone or set as notification.
thats where you are probably stuck hu?? well go to settings, Then go to the paint pallet where it says personalize then at the bottom scroll over towards the sound icon. Then select notification sound, make it your defaut notification and as I did I made it my message, email, and task the same notification cause thats what I wanted, I left calander something generic. After that your notification that you selected or wanted should work. If it dosent send me a pm and ill try to explain it a littel bit more better but I think you should get it just fine from what I wrote from here.
Heres the link to my zedge account I just made this afternoon just so I could get my personal sounds and notifications as both ring tones and notifications, I just made it today and I already got 125 downloads. Thought that was pretty cool (Zedge | crippyman's profile) I hope this helps you and I hope you like my tones I made and uploaded:thrasher:
 
well i got it to work :) thanks for the detailed instructions. I just got the phone so still trying to figure out all the inner workings lol

Here's a shorter answer for those having the same problem.

If you go into Settings > Sounds and change Notification Sound, it changes the "default" sound for most apps.

However, the messaging app that comes with the Evo V isn't set to use the default, it's set for a different one.

So just load up the messaging app, hit the menu button and go into settings. The notification sound can be changed there.

I know this because I had the same problem. :)
