Help Notification Sounds for Droid Eris (Question)

[thechoke]

I know that on my droid eris I can set specific ring tones for specific people but is there any way that I can make my phone make specific notification sounds for individual people when they send me a text message?

Thanks.

This can be done with Handcent.
If using HAndcent, like on a thread, then I believe up top there will be a settings button. Those settings are for the specific contact from the thread you are on.
You can change the sound and a few other options also.

Go SMS can also do this. I've found it to be a little zippier than Handcent, but both are great choices.

IIRC other messaging apps as well.
